When Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 arrives, you can expect some changes. This is true every season. There’s a new map, new loot pool, and new characters every single time. Sometimes, there are also changes to the gameplay. Movement mechanics come and go, building features change, and more. When the next season arrives, there will be a pretty unique addition to the gameplay.

Per HYPEX, hero abilities are coming to next season. It’s currently unclear what these are, probably because we’ve only barely begun Season 3. Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 is still a long way away, so we’ll learn more in the coming months. For now, we don’t know what these abilities will be.
We do know that they do not use ammo, so they won’t be items/weapons in the classic sense. Fortnite gamers will find them in the regular loot pool, meaning they can be found on the floor, and with a better chance of dropping from chests and supply drops. It’s likely going to be tied to the superhero theme of the season and the battle pass, but it’s unclear how this will work in-game.
To date, Epic Games has not really added anything like this. They’ve had Mythic items before, but these seem to be a little different, and they don’t use any ammo. It could morph the season into a totally different video game. A similar thing happened when the Last Airbender Mythics were added.
The battle royale became a competition of who could use those items better. In Chapter 5 Season 3, the car meta did something similar, but whatever is planned for Chapter 6 Season 4 is going to be different even from those seasons.
For now, this is all we know, but it is still several weeks away from the next season, so there’s plenty of time for leakers to continue data mining and uncover the details.
