Fortnite could add new side-scrolling camera to Creative 2.0

Fortnite has predominantly been a 3D game with one fixed camera style. The addition of attachments in Chapter 5 has allowed some guns to be used in a first-person-esque POV, but it’s also mostly been third-person. That could all change in Creative 2.0 very soon. That game mode generally allows for anything. Any possible game mode or map style that can be dreamed up can be made, but they have all had to fit in the same camera view and style. That may not even be a stipulation pretty soon if the latest leak is correct.

Fortnite looking into side-scroller modes for creative

Creative 2.0 completely changed Fortnite forever. A lot of Creative maps that are popular now would not have been possible before Unreal Editor for Fortnite was added to the game. It has turned Creative into a free-for-all. It’s interesting that players can pull up a Creative map in Fortnite and play a game that is totally unlike anything the Battle Royale game has ever seen. Items that have never been made, graphics that aren’t used, and settings that don’t apply can be put on a map. Anything is possible, and now, that may include side-scrolling platformer levels.

According to renowned leaker ShiinaBR, the game is looking to add side-scroller support by September. Side-scrolling has typically been reserved for iconic titles like the best Super Mario games, Sonic the Hedgehog, and more. Based on the leak, that could now be part of Fortnite. Players recreated Only Up in the game, and now they might be able to create Super Mario Bros 3, for example. Creative 2.0 was a massive change to the game, and this is poised to be yet another one.

The game has quickly become a sort of buffet. Much like Roblox, the original game is joined by anything and everything players can imagine. The possibilities weren’t very limited. After September, they might not be limited at all. This is a leak, so it’s far from a guarantee. However, with how much Epic Games has invested in Creative, it seems very probable. They want to make it as big as it can be, and that likely includes all-new game modes.
