Fortnite is getting rid of exclusivity almost entirely
Fortnite is slowly removing exclusivity from the vast majority of skins. They have already confirmed that after Chapter 5 Season 3, all battle pass skins could one day return in the Item Shop for full price. Now, it looks like Epic is going back into the archives to get even more skins and bring them back, stripping them of their exclusivity as well. Here’s what we know.

Fortnite Skins Losing Exclusivity in More Ways than One
According to leaker HYPEX, there’s almost nothing exclusive anymore. Fortnite skins will be available from virtually anywhere. Players have already seen festival pass skins, like the ‘The Weeknd’ skin land in the Item Shop after being tied behind that pass. Now, old starter packs and more are reportedly on their way back to modern gamers.
The leaker said that starter packs, quest items, FNCS skins, and more are likely coming back. These were all exclusive at one point. Epic Games has decided, though, to bring them back in some way. Quest items, for example, will be in locker bundles now. Future battle pass skins will reportedly be added back “after a year.”
It’s worth noting that it has been expressly stated that past Fortnite battle pass skins will not be brought back. The non-exclusive tag was applied moving forward for those. Rick Sanchez, Omega, Drift, Dire, Ragnarok, Ice King, Superman, Aquaman, Midas, and all the rest aren’t coming back.
However, clearly, that does not retroactively apply to everything. Epic thrives on V-Buck and pack sales, so it’s not all that surprising that they’re finding a way to bring back everything that might sell well. That includes some old, rare skins that players once thought might be exclusive.
While there’s no actual value tied to these skins since they can’t be bought and sold, it does inherently make them less special. It also might make gamers regret their long-ago choice. They wanted to buy something they thought might be special and rare one day. Now, the skins are not that.
For those players, who maybe new to fortnite and missed out on those OG skins, now have a chance to get some. I myself, jump at the chance to grab those older skins
i think its good in a way, for newer people to get their hands on older skins that are now not really considered exclusive, but this kind of defeats the purpose of account value aswell
Account value? Selling accounts is against the rules, I for one am loving this.
