Fortnite Reportedly Working With James Gunn’s DCU Soon

Fortnite is set to add a whole slate of new characters soon. They are reportedly partnering with the new DCU, which will begin this summer and will have skins for movies in the future. This is just like what Epic Games has done with Marvel, as they have plenty of characters that got skins for movies that came out. Now, the revamped DC Cinematic Universe is also going to get the same treatment.

Fortnite x DCU Reportedly in the Works

According to leaker ShiinaBR, the collaboration is in full effect. James Gunn, the current leader of DC for Warner Brothers, is fully involved. He is reportedly giving notes and approvals directly to Epic Games. This way, they know what characters they can use and how Gunn would prefer them to be even in Fortnite.

There are already a number of DC characters in the Fortnite metaverse. Superman got a skin in the Chapter 2 Season 7 battle pass. Aquaman, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, The Joker, Batman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Black Adam, and so many others have already been in Fortnite.

The majority of the recognizable DC characters already have skins and collaborations, like the many that are in Chapter 6 Season 2. Now, Epic Games has the chance to re-do them.

This has been done at times for Marvel skins. Spider-Man got a skin, but there was another variant released for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Thor had a skin, but he got a movie one for Thor: Love and Thunder. DCU movies can get skins styled to their character designs in the same way.

The first movie of Gunn’s new DCU is coming out this summer. Superman is going to include a host of different DC characters, including the titular character, a Green Lantern, and Lex Luthor. Those could all get skins even if they’ve been in the game before.

And moving forward, all other skins can get new releases whether they’ve been added to the metaverse before or not. It’s a foolproof way for Epic to continue making money on skins since they’re different versions of the characters technically. Be sure to check out more Fortnite leaks!
