Fortnite leak suggests fan-favorite items could return this summer

Several popular Fortnite items could be coming back to the game in the next month or so. Leaks are flying out at a furious rate, and players have a good idea of what the immediate future looks like for the battle royale. That includes skins, map changes, new mechanics, and of course, returning items. The summer months are always different in Fortnite, as Epic Games seeks to provide that same vibe in the game. This year, a lot of fan-favorite items might be brought back.

Thanks to renowned leaker HYPEX, the gaming community knows what to expect this summer. Epic Games will eventually go on a company-wide vacation, and they’ll set up the summer event before they do that. In that event, it looks like a few fun items are being reintroduced to the loot pool, per Fortnite leaks. Among them are:

  • Impulse Grenades
  • Rift-To-Go
  • Dynamite
  • Mini Crash Pad
  • Med Mist
  • Lock-On Pistol

The leaker noted that the Med Mist could be for a potential Mad Max collaboration, since characters spray a mist on themselves in that film. The prequel to Fury Road just released, and it’s clear that the current season is heavily inspired by the vehicular warfare in those films. HYPEX also pointed out that the Lock-On Pistol isn’t just coming back. It is also going to get Epic and Legendary rarities this time.

Several other guns and items are expected to be added for a massive summer patch, which should arrive in the next month or so. The rumored Pirates of the Caribbean collaboration has several other items planned. It would make a perfect addition to the patch. Summer is all about the ocean, which is where the Pirates thrive. Given the timing of the update, it’s likely that Wastelander Magneto will also be unlocked then.

Since it will introduce those cosmetics and quests along with potentially a massive collaboration and the summer event, the patch should be rather sizable. It will be Epic’s final hurrah for the time being, so expect a lengthy download time before you’re able to try the new Fortnite items when they drop.
