Part of a Fortnite Mini Event designed to wrap up Chapter 5 Season 2 has already leaked. Epic Games often runs events to further progress the storyline, sometimes large and sometimes small. For example, the Chapter 2 Season 7 live event with the aliens was rather big.

The ending to Chapter 5 Season 2 won’t be that massive. It’ll most likely be akin to the mini event that took place with Pandora’s Box last season. Not a lot of details are known, but some leaks confirm what players can expect to see.

Fortnite Mini Event Animation Leak Shows Major Map Change

Fortnite leaker Anker has uncovered a whole animation for the mini event. When the current season wraps up, a piece of the island that’s been stationary since it debuted will become active and play a role in what transpires. The giant statue that sits above Mount Olympus is expected to stop holding its sword and raise it up in attack. Whatever the event holds, it’s going to be led by the statue.

Other Fortnite leaks give a clearer look at what’s going to take place on the rest of the map. Several data miners have revealed that a sandstorm is to take place across the island. With an apocalyptic theme teased for Chapter 5 Season 3, the sandstorm might be used as a destructive vehicle. If it rages across all the POIs, it might leave them tattered and in shambles. That would pave the way for the new theme and fit in with what is expected of the next season.

Combined with the statue coming to life, the sandstorm figures to be a changing force for the island. Expect more leaks to come to light in the coming days.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 arrives on May 24, which leaves less than two weeks in the current season.

Between now and then, teases of the sandstorm or the activation of the dormant statue might be dropped into the game, or shown off by leakers. It is an exciting time for Fortnite, as every new season brings changes to the game.
