Fortnite OG Ranked Zero Build Will Soon Be Vaulted

Fortnite OG Ranked Zero Build is about to go away. Since this is a PvP game, excluding the PvE Save the World mode and the various different types of Creative experiences, it has ranked play. Multiplayer games often do. It gives players the chance to compete and potentially become a pro or win some money.

This has been applied to most game modes in an attempt to give every possible player the opportunity to rank up no matter what mode they play. However, that won’t be true in a few days. One mode is losing its ranked version.

Fortnite OG Ranked Zero Build is Going Away

According to leaker ShiinaBR, the ranked mode for Fortnite OG Zero Build is leaving on March 4. On that day, it will be vaulted. This doesn’t mean it’s gone forever, as Epic Games could bring it back at some point. It just won’t be available for now.

This is done largely because of low player counts. Simply put, no one is playing this particular mode. This is probably a direct result of there just being so many game modes now. There’s Battle Royale, Rocket Racing, Festival, Creative, and LEGO.

The addition of OG added yet another mode. That, and the regular Battle Royale (currently in Chapter 6 Season 2), have to have both Zero Build and Standard to make it accessible for everyone.

Additionally, those modes all have to have ranked modes, so there are just a lot of slight variations on existing modes right now. There just aren’t enough players to go around, and this particular mode seems to have suffered the most. There’s no indication in the leak when Epic might bring the mode back.

Presumably, there’d have to be high enough demand for it, but that may not happen. OG Ranked is still active, as are the rest of the ranked modes for now. For the time being, this is the only game mode that’s being removed from active playlists.
