Fortnite OG Season 2 could bring back 3 fan-favorite items

Fortnite is constantly getting updated. Epic Games just recently took their holiday break, so there was a stretch where that wasn’t true. However, they’re back now and the updates are pretty free flowing once more. The latest update has revealed a ton about what the future holds for the game, including the return of three popular items from previous seasons. Here’s what we know is coming back soon.

Fortnite to Bring Back Three Popular Items

According to leaks, there are a few items planned for the loot pool. First, the Zapotron is coming back to Fortnite OG. Leaker HYPEX confirmed this and added that it would be soon. Given the fact that OG Season 2 comes in about two weeks, it’s likely that it will come around that time. It could drop early, but that’s the most logical release window.

The Zapotron does 50-150 damage to someone’s body, 125-375 to their head, and 1,000 to builds. Players can charge it for up to two seconds to increase the potential damage done. It uses energy cells for ammo, so there will be a different type of ammo on the island instead of having it use medium ammo or anything like that.

The last two items are likely for the regular Chapter 6 loot pool. Per leaks, the Recon Scanner and Rail Gun are both coming back. The Recon Scanner fires a projectile that scans the environment and pings any players it finds. It’s a great way to survey a massive build fight or see if someone’s in the building you’re about to enter. The Rail Gun can fire through walls if you charge it up and functions similarly to a sniper rifle.

That leak didn’t say when the items were coming back, but they’re probably also coming back soon. Chapter 6 Season 1 doesn’t end until February 21, so there are still about five weeks left in the season to utilize these returning Fortnite items. Keep in mind that these are leaks and are therefore unreliable. However, this is what is expected to happen sometime in the near future. This comes in a stretch of old items coming back. That includes the Lock-On Pistol, Ranger Assault Rifle, and Hunting Rifle.
