Rank Protection is a nifty little daily loss prevention feature that automatically kicks in for your first ranked match every day. This means that if you have a less-than-stellar performance or end up losing your first match, you won’t lose any points in your ranking in Fortnite. Instead, the game will display a message on your screen saying, “Rank Protected.” It’s like a virtual pat on the back, letting you know that it’s okay to have an off day.
But wait, there’s a catch! As much as we’d love to have our rank protected for every match, Rank Protection only applies to your first game of the day. Any subsequent matches will follow the normal rank progression rules. So, if you happen to stumble in your second or third match, you’ll unfortunately lose rank points as usual.

Thankfully, Rank Protection is available in Fortnite across all platforms, so whether you’re playing the game on an iPhone or PC, Epic has got you covered. One thing to keep in mind is that Rank Protection resets every day at 8 PM EST/ 5 PM PST / 1 AM GMT. So, you can take advantage of this feature once every 24 hours.
