Gaimin Gladiators returns to CS2 with full Brazilian roster

Canadian esports organization Gaimin Gladiators dipped into the Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports scene in April 2024 with an all-Danish roster that lasted less than a year. Fast forward a few months, and Gaimin Gladiators has returned to the CS2 scene, signing an all-Brazilian lineup.

The team should be familiar to fans of South American CS2, as it features the former W7M Esports lineup after they discontinued their CS2 operations on May 29, 2025.

Gaimin Gladiators took to social media to announce the roster, with a Brazilian Portuguese line: “Garra Brasileira, Espírito de Gladiador. Desempregueidos Ontem, Gladiadores Hoje,” which translates to “Brazilian Grit, Gladiator Spirit. Unemployed Yesterday, Gladiators Today.”

Thanks to past performances as a team, they are currently ranked #24 on the Americas VRS, which makes qualifying for the StarLadder Budapest Major unlikely, especially since invites will be sent out on October 6.

On the server, the squad is led by 29-year-old rifler, Gabriel “NEKIZ” Schenato, who boasts over a decade of competitive experience, while coach João “horvy” Horvath works out the tactics behind the scenes.

Speaking to Dust2 Brazil, coach horvy touched on the team’s hopes of qualifying for the upcoming Major Championship, stating:

“Qualifying for this Major is very difficult, but we’re all very realistic here, and we’re imagining something for the Cologne Major. Of course, we want to qualify for this Major, but we see that it’s difficult and it’s good that the pressure isn’t there, we’re playing more relaxed.”

The complete Gaimin Gladiators CS2 roster is:

  • Gabriel “NEKIZ” Schenato
  • Bruno “shz” Martinelli
  • Bruno “b4rtiN” Câmara
  • Lucas “bsd” Luan
  • Jhonatan “JOTA” Willian

Their first outing under the Gaimin Gladiators banner is set for September 27 to 30 at FERJEE Rush 2025, a B-tier offline event taking place on LAN at the Clube de Aeronáutica venue in Rio de Janeiro.

To have a slight chance of qualifying for the StarLadder Budapest Major, Gaimin Gladiators will have to win FERJEE Rush 2025 and hope all pieces fall into place. After all, they are ranked #24 on the Americas VRS, and only the top ten from the region earn invites.
