Types of Marvel Rivals Characters

Players who play Marvel Rivals need to note one thing: they don’t need playable characters, upcoming announcements, or future characters in the game. This is because the game focuses more on players getting skins of their favorite heroes. During a given match, players can change their choice of characters after respawning within Marvel Rivals.

Within Marvel Rival Rivals, each hero is a part of a given role. Each Hero role has certain signature traits to them. Based on these traits and abilities, players will need to change their style of play. Below is a list of all roles within Marvel Rivals:

  • Duelists
  • Strategists

Duelists

Characters in the Duelist class in Marvel Rivals primarily focus on outputting damage. These heroes are crucial for securing takedowns and finding enemies. These heroes are a lot nimbler and have skills focusing on mobility. Most of their abilities are focused on giving them an advantage during 1v1 duels against enemies. In other games, these heroes would be considered their teams’ DPS.

Strategists

Strategist characters in Marvel Rivals are more focused on assisting and supporting their teammates. These characters have abilities that can inflict damage on enemies and heal their teammates as well. Their main goal isn’t about getting kills but instead supporting the Duelist and Vanguard players in their team.

Some of their abilities can provide certain buffs to their teammates, such as increasing damage dealt, granting extra health, and additional movement speed. Many would recognize these heroes as those who come under the support class in other games.
