ARK: Survival Evolved Size & System Requirements: Can You Run It?
If you’re looking for an amazing survival game based in a fantasy world, then ARK: Survival Evolved is the game for you. Surprisingly, for being a modern title, the ARK size is very acceptable, which is tempting to players on a lower budget. This action-adventure game doesn’t need a lot for players to get going, meaning you’re only going to need a decent entry-level machine to play this game, which probably makes it one of the better online games to play with friends. This is always more appealing to players who don’t want to hear their machine on its last legs because it’s trying to squeeze every last frame.
That being said, let’s take a look at ARK download size and system requirements.

Surprisingly for a game as packed with content as ARK: Survival Evolved, the game has a rather small download size in comparison to other modern titles in the game genre.
According to the Steam page, ARK: Survival Evolved will set you back 60 GB of storage space. Honestly, its perfectly fine for machines that are on the lower end, for such a large-scale game. Although Ark game size might get a bit bigger along the way with the constant patches it receives, it shouldn’t get as nearly big as, let’s say, the Baldur’s Gate 3 size. We do, however, suggest you upgrade to the best storage system possible. An SSD would work best with this game, just because it allows faster loads of the different textures, creatures, and more.
Ark system requirements
With this being more of an open-world game, you’re going to need a PC that can process the large-scale environment and the creatures that are roaming in the background. This is why at a minimum players should be running an i5 CPU, 8GB RAM, and have a good SSD.
While 16 GB of RAM can seem excessive, if you want no problems at all, then we advise making that upgrade whenever you can. 8 GB of RAM should be more than enough for the majority of Ark player count to get you started.
All of this combined will help you be able to move through the areas of the map, fighting the large-scale creatures, and more with ease. This is then rounded out by a solid graphics card, to ensure the frame rate is never dropping below that 60 frames per second sweet spot.
