Battlefield 5 Size and System Requirements – Is Your PC Ready For it?

Battlefield 5 is another intense war simulator developed by EA. Although Battlefield 5 is seen as the alternative to the highly popular FPS title Call of Duty, and while it may not live up to its rival’s size, as far as the Battlefield 5 player count and sales go, it offers a different enough experience to make it a viable alternative to the run-and-gun style of Call of Duty. It’s a visually stunning game, but with that comes steep file size and system requirements.

Like with all BF titles, Battlefield 5 has steep system requirements and requires large storage due to its big file size. The game hosts well over fifty players, on a large-scale map with dynamic weather, skyscrapers that can collapse, and much more. As seen in the Call of Duty VS Battlefield review, EA chose to go with a more realistic simulated style, as opposed to the arcade run-and-gun style of CoD. It’s played at a much slower pace, but the enjoyment is the same.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Battlefield 5 game size and system requirements.

Battlefield 5 file size

Battlefield 5 requires players to have decent storage in order to download the game onto their machines. In this instance, the Battlefield 5 size is 50GB. While that is not the extreme number you can see in some of the newer AAA games, 50GB is still a significant amount. For the best performance, we recommend downloading the game onto an SSD, if you have one.

Battlefield is a spectacular game and even on the lower settings, your machine is going to need all the help it can get.

If your PC is on the lower end, we wouldn’t even recommend attempting to load up Battlefield 5 onto your machine. It can probably cause more damage to your hardware trying to load up a game as intense as Battlefield 5, even on some of the smaller maps.

With any of the best first-person shooter games, you need consistency with the FPS otherwise you are at a disadvantage when it comes to shooting back against your enemies. If your opponent is running a smooth operation, while on your end your frames are skipping, its not going to end well for you.

First, let’s dive into the Battlefield minimum requirements.

Minimum system requirements

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 10
  • Processor: AMD FX-8350 or Intel Core i5 6600K
  • Memory 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: GeForce GTX 1050 / AMD Radeon RX 560
  • DirectX: 11.0 compatible video card or equivalent
  • Storage: 50 GB

If you have the machine for it, we definitely recommend playing the game with some of the higher graphical settings. It’s a stunning game and should be played as the developer intended. There’s no shame in tweaking some of the settings to ensure smoothness, but where applicable try bumping up some of the visual settings just to improve the looks.

Now, let’s see the recommended Battlefield 5 system requirements.

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 10 or later
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 3 1300X or Intel Core i7 4790
  • Memory 12 GB RAM
  • Graphics: GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB / AMD Radeon RX 580
  • DirectX: 11.1 compatible video card or equivalent
  • Storage: 50 GB
