Types of Skins In Marvel Rivals

There are quite a few skins available for each hero in the game. As the game is free to download, cosmetics are a significant source of revenue for the publisher. The game has various cosmetics, such as costumes, spray, emote, final MVP animation, and nameplates.

Within Marvel rivals, heroes’ skins are termed costumes. As of February 2025, the game has over 37 playable characters and 123 skins to unlock. Skins can be purchased for real-world money or obtained by completing specific missions.

Currently, all skins are split into four major categories. Below are those categories:

  • Rare
  • Epic
  • Legendary
  • Mythic

Rare skins are just colored versions of the default hero skin. These skins can reference the heroes’ original colors within the comics. Some of these skins could be from various other variants of the same hero within another multiverse. Due to the over 40+ years of comics within Marvel, a vast catalog of these skins will be available.
