This Western-style GTA game had a lot of hype before it came out, and it didn’t disappoint. Red Dead Redemption 2 had one of the fastest-selling launches in entertainment history. With its deep story and memorable characters, it quickly became a favourite. So far, over 74 million copies have been sold which makes it one of the best-selling video games of all time. That’s a big win for Arthur and his gang, and an even bigger one for Rockstar Games.

Battle royale games became super popular and PUBG helped start that trend. Even though newer games like Fortnite are free to play, PUBG still holds the title for best-selling battle royale game. In PUBG, you drop onto a map with a bunch of other players and try and be the last one standing. The map keeps shrinking, which makes each match more intense. With 75 million copies sold and over a billion mobile downloads, it’s still a huge hit.

The Grand Theft Auto franchise needs no introduction. When the game came out, it made over a billion dollars in just three days. That’s how excited people were! It’s an open world game where you can follow the story and cause chaos if you want. GTA V has sold over 215 million copies which is an almost unfathomable number of purchases – but it’s still the 3rd best-selling game of all time.

Minecraft is a game where you can build and do almost anything. It’s basically a giant sandbox made out of blocks with people of all ages falling in love with it. You can play in survival mode, where you have to gather materials and stay alive or you can hop into Creative and build whatever your heart desires. It might be hard to believe but Minecraft has sold around 350 million copies. That number keeps growing as more people find new ways to play and create.

Simple games often do the best and Tetris proves that. The goal is easy: move and rotate blocks to create full lines. It’s fast and surprisingly addictive. Even though it’s been around for nearly 40 years, people still love it. Tetris has been released on dozens of systems and has sold at least 520 million copies. That’s more than any other puzzle game (and any other game for that matter) with no signs of slowing down.
