Delta Force: New Story Trailer Reveals Single-Player Campaign
Delta Force: Hawk Ops is coming soon from TiMi Studio Group, and prospective fans are still on the fence about the game. There are expectations that it’ll be a pay-to-win, microtransaction-fuelled mess, but every trailer produced by the team just looks better than the last one. In the latest video published by TiMi, we get a glimpse at the new single-player campaign in Delta Force, which is themed around the ‘Black Hawk Down’ events of 1993 in Somalia.
This true-to-life campaign is a like-for-like retelling of the events that unfolded in Mogadishu in October 1993. It’s called Black Hawk Down, mirroring both the name of the 2001 movie that retold the story and referencing the words that were spoken when a chopper was shot down in Somalia during the vicious battle.
Hold Steady
It’s important to not pass judgment until you’ve sampled the final product – but that works both ways. It’s easy to say that Delta Force: Hawk Ops looks fantastic in these trailers, but at the same time, there are fears that it won’t live up to these expectations. It’s the first game to bear the Delta Force name in many years, but it’s not what the classic games represented at all. Instead of being a tactical, slow-paced first-person shooter, Delta Force: Hawk Ops is a high-octane, near-future replication of the series.
However, the ‘near-future’ elements are noticeably eradicated in the latest trailer. During the Summer Game Fest showcase, TiMi Studio Group revealed a world-first look at Black Hawk Down, the single-player component in Delta Force: Hawk Ops that’s a world away from the ability-laden multiplayer platform we’ve seen in trailers thus far. The Black Hawk Down campaign looks realistic, authentic, and jaw-droppingly impressive.
Here’s the new trailer:
Delta Force: Hawk Ops is available for pre-order on Steam and the Epic Games Store, and in a few weeks, a beta window will open up, allowing players to get access to the title. Presently, the split is between the Black Hawk Down-themed single-player campaign and an intense and large-scale multiplayer platform with several top-tier game modes. It’s tough to not get excited about Delta Force – everything we’ve seen so far suggests it’ll be a phenomenal shooter and a solid disruptor of what’s on the market already.
