Deltarune Release Date – Chapters 1-4, Pricing and More
The Deltarune release date has finally been revealed, and it’s earlier than expected. After years of waiting and cryptic updates, Toby Fox has confirmed that Deltarune Chapters 3–4 are launching soon. And thanks to time zones, most players around the world will actually get to dive in a day earlier than the official release.
Let’s break it down, because this launch is a little different.

What is the Deltarune Release Date?
Deltarune is launching on June 5, 2025. Although the game is set to launch alongside the brand-new Nintendo Switch 2, it’s not exclusive to it. The release time is based on Japan Standard Time (JST)—which means midnight in Japan is when Deltarune Chapters 1–4 go live digitally.
Because Japan is ahead of most other time zones, that translates to:
- 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET in the United States
- Evening hours in Europe
- And even earlier in Australia and New Zealand, who might get it a few hours before Japan does.
Toby Fox acknowledged this in his newsletter and had a cheeky message for early-access players in the southern hemisphere:
“We’re just going to ignore you guys and pretend the game is not out… Meanwhile, don’t say anything about it, please.”

What Platforms Will Deltarune Be On?
While Deltarune is helping kick off the Switch 2 era, it’s also coming to:
- Nintendo Switch
- PlayStation 4 and 5
- PC
One cool feature? Cross-generation purchasing. If you grab the game on Switch or PS4, you’ll also get the upgraded Switch 2 or PS5 version at no extra cost. Plus, you’ll be able to transfer your save data, so you won’t lose progress when you switch consoles.
How Much Does Deltarune Cost?
Toby Fox has finally given Deltarune a price: $24.99 for Chapters 1–4. Even better, he confirmed that any chapters beyond 4 will be added as free updates. So yes—you only have to buy the game once.
If you’re new to the series, Chapters 1 and 2 are still available for free on PlayStation, Switch, and PC. It’s a great way to get started and see if the game’s unique humour and combat style click with you (spoiler: they probably will).
Also worth noting: the soundtrack will be available on Steam for $14.99, featuring over 150 tracks. If you’re a fan of Undertale’s music, you already know it’s going to be packed with bangers.
Deltarune Release Date – Final Thoughts
So, it’s finally happening—Deltarune Chapters 1–4 are just around the corner, and thanks to time zones, some of us might even get to dive in a little early on June 4. That’s exciting enough on its own, but there’s more to love here.
This is Toby Fox’s long-awaited follow-up to Undertale, one of the most successful indie games of all time. If you haven’t played Deltarune yet, the first two chapters are still free on PlayStation, Switch, and PC—so it’s easy to catch up.
The full package, including Chapters 1–4, will cost just $24.99. And the best part? You only have to buy it once. Any future chapters will be added as free updates, and if you’re playing on PlayStation or Nintendo, cross-gen support means your purchase carries over to PS5 or Switch 2 with no extra cost.
