How to Change Appearance in Dragon Age: The Veilguard
Are you wondering how to change your appearance in Dragon Age: The Veilguard? You’re not alone.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is one of the best RPG games around and part of the allure of an RPG like this is that you can truly be whatever and whoever you want to be. That includes everything down to the appearance, and this Dragon Age game has a substantial character creation menu. Rest assured, the appearance you set when you start the game is not locked in forever. You can change it later, and here’s how to do just that.

How Do I Change My Appearance in Dragon Age: The Veilguard?
You are allowed to change your Dragon Age: The Veilguard looks as many times as you want. If you have played 75% of the Dragon Age story and decide you want to look different, you absolutely can! There is just one progression point that needs to be reached first, though.
Once you reach the Lighthouse, you can change your appearance. This comes after beating the “The End of the Beginning” quest. This quest is essentially the prologue, so it happens very early on in Act One (One of three acts in Dragon Age: The Veilguard).
Once you wake up there, you’ll be in a bed. To your left is Varric and to your right is the Mirror of Transformation. Fittingly, this is where you go and interact to change how you look. You can’t change your race, backstory, or class with this, though. It is strictly appearance because the story takes part of the backstory, race, and class into account. The following can be changed:
- Head (shape, skin color, and more)
- Eyes (shape, color, and eyebrows)
- Mouth (shape and position)
- Ears (shape and position)
- Hair (style and color)
- Body (shape, proportions, and undergarments)
- Nose (shape)
- Body art (tattoos, scars, and paint)
- Makeup (eye and lip makeup, and blush)
There are also presets for your Rook if you’re unsure what direction to go. You can return here at any time to continue changing how you appear until it’s perfect. Your Dragon Age: The Veilguard name and voice can be changed at this point, but not your gender identity or pronouns. That can be tweaked later on during “The Enemy of My Enemy.” At this time, you can cement your character as trans or non-binary if you so choose.
