DreamHack Atlanta 2024: Dates, Competitions, Tickets and More

DreamHack, the iconic global gaming lifestyle festival under ESL FACEIT Group (EFG), is gearing up for its sixth edition in Atlanta. From October 4th through 6th, there will be a lot lined up for fans including esports, cosplay, and tabletop competitions at Georgia World Congress center.

Apart from boasting the of $1.1 million prize pool, the event promises something for everyone. Guy Blomberg, DreamHack’s Director of Festivals for North America, highlighted the event’s wide appeal. “DreamHack Atlanta is for every competitor, whether you’re wielding a controller, a set of dice, or even a sewing machine,” he said. “With 20 competitions ranging from major esports championships to grassroots tournaments, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.”

This upcoming event follows the success of DreamHack Dallas, which concluded in June, attracting over 55,000 visitors to become the most-attended DreamHack festival to date. Dallas also hosted the first cross-regional Overwatch Champion Series event, where top teams from different regions clashed in an intense Grand Final.

Esports and other Competitions Lined Up at DreamHack Atlanta 2024

One of North America’s largest mobile esports events of the year, the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship will be returning to Atlanta this year for the 2024 edition. Last year the event made strides across the esports world when the Indian team, Godlike Esports beat the home team and defending champions, Tribe Gaming in the semi-finals. This year, along with the 2023 champions, Team Wolves, a total of 16 teams from 7 regions will lock horns for the lion’s share of the $1 million prize pool, making it the grand attraction among the esports events lined up at DreamHack Atlanta.

As for fans of Counter-Strike 2, DreamHack Atlanta will feature the ESL Challenger tournament, a $100,000 competition offering participants a chance to secure a spot in ESL Pro League Season 21. The tournament is set to bring together seven top international teams and a locally invited squad, with action kicking off on Friday, October 4.

In tabletop gaming, DreamHack is expanding its offerings with a 100-player Warhammer 40k tournament, as well as an 8-player team event. Organized by the National Tabletop League, these competitions represent DreamHack’s largest celebration of Warhammer to date.

Fighting Games and Cosplay Competition

DreamHack Atlanta will also host its flagship DreamHack Fighters series, featuring tournaments in six popular fighting games, including Street Fighter 6, TEKKEN 8, and Mortal Kombat 1. Competitors will vie for a total prize pool of $23,000.

Meanwhile, the festival’s iconic cosplay competition returns, offering over $3,000 in prizes. The contest is open to participants across multiple skill categories, with contestants showcasing their craftsmanship before an expert panel of judges.

Additional Activities for Visitors at DreamHack Atlanta 2024

DreamHack’s Freeplay area will cater to casual gamers, offering a variety of console and PC tournaments with over $13,000 in prizes. Popular titles like Rocket League, Fall Guys, and EA SPORTS NCAA 25 will headline the weekend’s lineup.
