Yoshi-P Says New Eureka/Bozja-Like Content Due in FFXIV Patch 7.2
Final Fantasy XIV lead producer and director Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida has set a prospective window for the release of new field operation content like Eureka and Bozja, and its in FFXIV patch 7.2. The FFXIV director explained that planning for the next Bozja/Eureka-like area was finished during a panel at Japan Expo, and gave a tentative date for its release.
Large field area content, sometimes known as Field Operations, or Exploratory Missions, have been absent for FFXIV for a full expansion, after being a significant part of the game for multiple years. The first large area instanced combat content for FFXIV was the original Diadem, released in Heavensward patch 3.1, however that content has since been removed.
Eureka was added as part of Stormblood’s post-release content, and saw players head to the recently reappeared continent of Eureka to discover its secrets. On top of some crazy Relic weapon grinding, and some armor that people still crave to this day, the instance features an incredible 56 person raid, known as the The Baldesion Arsenal, a piece of content few have seen and even fewer have completed.

Shadowbringers brought with it Bozja, with two areas The Bozjan Southern Front and Zadnor, which together set the scene for an in-story Garlean collapse in the following Endwalker expansion. Both Zadnor and Bozja out did themselves with raid content, including three 48-man raids, and one 24 man. There was no large field content in Endwalker.
While details about the new large field area content are sparse, hints from pre-release promos suggest this could see players travel to other stars (planets) and perhaps Reflections. Later during the panel, Yoshi-P ominously said something along the lines of “Estinien might be visiting other worlds…” shutting down a question about NPC romance. So maybe we’ll have some company if we do end up on other worlds.
Still, the return of another large field area piece of content to FFXIV, like Bozja and Eureka, is sure to please players and hopefully, those Dawntrail queues will stay short!
For our part, Bozja was one of the best pieces of content post-Shadowbringers offered, giving us a chance to explore a new continent, battle Garleans, grind FATEs and otherwise take part in one of these wars that are always mentioned in FFXIV, but don’t really do much direct fighting of. Sadly, our predicted release of FFXIV 7.2 is some time around March 2025, so don’t expect the new Bozja-like content anytime soon.
