FFXIV Fan Event In London Sells Out In Less Than An Hour
A Final Fantasy XIV fan event announced today (June 17) has sold out in less than an hour. The event was revealed on Monday morning, and within 30 minutes, fans and commenters noted that the event had sold out.
The FFXIV fan event was announced on Twitter/X in the early hours of Monday morning, with an accompanying blog post and link to an Eventbrite page. The event is set to take place in a week’s time, on Monday, June 24, from 19:00 to 23:00 (BST).
Tickets for the event, hosted at Big Chill King’s Cross in London, UK, were on sale for around 30 minutes before the entire event sold out. While there were just 150 places, the speed at which the event reached capacity was still surprising.

The event, set to celebrate the upcoming launch of Dawntrail, will feature food and themed drinks, a raffle, temporary tattoo stations, and more besides.
The pop-up event was seen as a chance for UK FFXIV fans to get a chance to experience some of the hype Parisians had felt learning that on 21 to 23 June a FFXIV pop-up store will be available in Paris, France. However, unlike the Paris event, the London event would feature no merchandise to be purchased, or chances to play the game.
This smaller FFXIV fan event in London still proved to be popular enough to sell out instantly, despite a reduced amount of activities.
FFXIV: Dawntrail is set to release on July 2, with early access for pre-orders taking place five days earlier on Friday, June 28. The fifth expansion to Final Fantasy XIV, Dawntrail will take adventurers to a new continent as they attempt to vie for the position of the Dawnservant, a political title in the country of Tural.
Square Enix has gone all out in hyping up the release, with dozens of promotional campaigns, from this fan event, to sales, commercials, collaborations with influencers, and more. Fans are at a fever pitch of excitement, but only time will tell how the release of Dawntrail will be received by the hardcore, and often opinionated playerbase.
