In FFXIV Dawntrail, previous old Tomestones from Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker have become obsolete, and you’ll need to exchange them for classic Tomestones of Poetics. But where to do this is not immediately apparent.
Luckily we’ve put together a quick guide on how to exchange your old Tomestones of Comedy, Causality, and Astronomy, for generic Tomestones of Poetics. Here’s where to exchange old Tomestones in FFXIV Dawntrail.

To exchange your old tomestones in FFXIV Dawntrail, you’ll need to head to Mor Dhona and speak to Auriana (X: 22.7, Y: 6.6). Talk to the NPC and select the option Allagan Tomestone Exchange. This will allow you to trade in Tomestones of Comedy, Causality, and Astronomy, for generic Tomestones of Poetics. The conversion rate varies for each, but you’ll generally be able to get 2,000 Tomestones of Poetics for a full stack of Comedy and Causality Tomestones.

All items that were bought with tomestones of Comedy and Causality can now be bought with Tomestones of Poetics, in case you need some new armor ahead of Dawntrail’s MSQ. There’s also, of course, a new Tomestone currency that’s been added to the game.
Allagan Tomestones of Aesthetics were added in 7.0 and you can obtain up to 2,000 of them at the present time. Players can only receive tomestones of aesthetics after reaching level 100 with at least one Disciple of War or Magic class or job. Currently the there’s only a few end-game pieces of armor you can get with Allagan Tomestones of Aesthetics, although it’s likely more items will be added in the future.
Additionally, the 7.2 patch will likely add a new form of Tomestone as well, so it’s best to keep fully stocked on Tomestones even as you spend them to gear up your Warriors of Light!
