Focus Points in Black Myth: Wukong, Explained
Focus Points in Black Myth: Wukong are central to the game’s combat, although its tutorial doesn’t necessarily give you all the information you need on them. Not to worry – we’re going to explain everything worth knowing about Focus Points in Game Science’s popular action RPG.
What are Focus Points in Black Myth: Wukong?
Using Focus Points in Black Myth: Wukong is your primary way of dealing big damage to enemies. Hitting enemies, charging, and completing perfect dodges will earn progress on the Focus Points bar, which rewards the point when filled. This can be seen in the bottom right corner of the screenshot above.
When you want to use your Focus Points, use a Heavy Attack. If you hit, this should take a chunk of the enemy’s health away, making it especially useful in Black Myth: Wukong boss fights. Combine this with the Immobilize spells for huge amounts of damage without risking being hit.
Upgrading Focus Points in Black Myth: Wukong
At the beginning of Black Myth: Wukong, you start with just a single Focus Point. This limits the amount of damage you can do in combat, as they’re so important when dishing out Heavy Attacks. This isn’t permanent though, as you can unlock more Focus Points by using your Sparks in the right way.
Spending your Sparks in the “Staff Stances” skill tree will passively make progress towards upgrading your Focus Points. You can earn up to an additional three (for a total of four) Focus Points. To unlock these, you need to spend three, 10, and 20 Sparks in the “Staff Stances” skill tree in total, but it’s definitely worth it.
