Heroes of Newerth: Reborn Launch
The return of HoN was a well-received news for many HoN players, especially after the game ceased operations in 2022.
Since then, a non-profit team of developers have established a HoN alternative, dubbed the Project KONGOR. Although limited in terms of its latest updates and even game mechanics, it still managed to garner decent player base.
Fast forward to 2025, Project KONGOR and HoN licence owners Garena announced HoN: Reborn. This was exciting news for HoN players it isn’t just a relaunch, but featured a new map, updated graphics, and more.

The hype train dies down for HoN: Reborn
Unfortunately, despite the return of HoN: Reborn, players were left disappointed by the fact that this game will only be available via the iGames platform.
The iGames platform is relatively unknown, especially compered to Steam or Epic Games launcher. Even old players, who are already playing HoN via Project KONGOR may not be willing to use iGames platform. And many new players have been discouraged by the calls to engage with an unfamiliar platform like iGames.
As such, HoN players are calling for the team behind Project KONGOR to reconsider their launch platform. Launching on the most popular game launcher, Steam, has historically proven to be a game changer. Examples include Black Myth: Wukong, which became the most played game on the platform within hours.
Unfortunately, regardless of fan feedback, it’s highly unlikely that HoN: Reborn will be released on a more mainstream and safe platform. Fans have also discovered that the iGames platform is an unscrupulous platform, that’s owned by S2Maliken, a former HoN developer that’s been accused of racism, in-game harassment, and a host of other slights. This seems to spell doom for an initially positive launch for the game.
