To begin, you should summon Igon for the fight against Bayle the Dread. His summon sign should be in the boss arena, and while he isn’t the most useful companion, he won’t increase Bayle the Dread’s health, so there’s no downside to using him every single time you play this fight.
As for Bayle himself, he’s got a lot for you to consider while fighting. His Fire and Lightning attacks can do a ton of damage, while his lunge and tail attacks can prove fatal. To combat this, use items like Morgott’s Great Rune and Crimson Amber Medallion +3 for some big health buffers. You’re going to get hit here – you might as well prepare for it, which you can do even further with Talismans that provide Fire and Lightning resistance.
Because Bayle the Dread is so fast, using lock-on spells can be deadly, as he can be tough to dodge. However, during area-of-effect attacks, you can use a longer spell like Comet Azur to deal some big damage. Alternatively, you can stay away from the boss with spells like Black Flame to try to avoid damage altogether. Remember, he’s weak to the head, so that’s where you want to aim!
