If you’re wondering how to download Forge for Minecraft, then look no further. Forge, like Fabric, exists almost exclusively to allow mods to run. It’s a free, open-source add-on that makes it pretty easy to install modifications to the game. For players who don’t want vanilla Minecraft or want to try something totally different, Forge is arguably the way to go. If you want to download it and try it out, read below for the instructions.

As long as you have Minecraft installed on your computer, then you can run Forge as well. To do so, follow these steps:
Once you have Forge downloaded, the steps will differ depending on the platform. For Windows, double-click on the Forge file. Select install client. Ensure the location is correct and proceed. Click Ok to move on and then you can play Minecraft. If you’re on Mac, the process is as follows. Once again, double-click the file. Click OK to go past the error message. Open System Preferences. Head to Security and Privacy. Make changes with your password and allow Minecraft Forge to open. Then make sure the location is right and move through the same process for Windows.
From there, you can install different Minecraft mods to try. Forge is exclusive to Java Edition, though, so it won’t work for PlayStation, Switch, or Xbox.
