All About the Crafter in Minecraft
Don’t confuse the Minecraft Crafter with the crafting table. The crafting table is the basis of all crafting and a very old item. This is not new and it didn’t get updated. The Crafter is a new block, something unique from the crafting table entirely. Ironically, you have to use a crafting table to make the Crafter. The item will automatically craft items using Redstone, thereby eventually automating even the crafting process.
You can fill the user interface for this block with the items you need and with a Redstone charge, each one will be placed into an item and eventually dispensed out. It can be used in conjunction with a Hopper to make items continuously. Certain slots can be disabled to ensure that the items are placed in the crafting UI in the right order, which matters for certain items in Java Edition.
To make a Crafter in Minecraft, you need the following:
- Four iron ingots
- One crafting table
- One dropper
- Two Redstone dust
You can break Crafters and the item will drop, so the placement of the crafter is not permanent. As long as there are materials in the right slots and a Redstone signal, the Crafter will keep making Minecraft items for you without end, so you can do other tasks in the meantime.
