Kingmakers Release Date Revealed: Platforms, Multiplayer and Early Access Info
If you’ve ever wanted to ride a horse through a medieval battlefield while unloading an assault rifle, you’re probably not alone-and now there’s a game for that. Kingmakers is one of the wildest upcoming titles making noise in the gaming world, blending strategy, time travel, and straight up chaos into one big, ambitious game. But the big question is: Does Kingmakers have a release date yet?
Fans got their first real taste of gameplay in early 2024, and the response was pretty much a mix of “what did I just watch?” and “sign me up.” So if you’re into historical mashups with tactical depth and a dash of time-bending sci-fi, Kingmakers should absolutely be on your radar.
Kingmakers Release Date
Mark your calendars – Kingmakers release date is officially set to launch its Early Access on October 8, 2025, exclusively on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Developed by Redemption Road Games and published by tinyBuild, this ambitious mix of medieval warfare and modern firepower already gathered over one million wishlists by the Steam playerbase.

The Early Access phase aims to gather player feedback and refine the game’s features, including massive real-time battles and cooperative gameplay, ahead of its full release.
What is Kingmakers About?
The plot is this: you’re a time traveler from the future who gets sent back to 15th century England during a massive civil war. But instead of blending in like some undercover knight, you bring modern-day weapons and tech into the mix. Assault rifles, SUVs, even drone strikes… all in a world of castles, swords, and catapults.

On the surface, it might look like a medieval war sim with a twist, but it’s way more than that. Kingmakers is being described as a sandbox strategy game, where you control one soldier in third-person, but also manage massive armies and influence the battlefield in real-time, like in every other RTS game. It combines action, strategy, and simulation in a way that not many games have tried before. You can jump into the fray with machine guns or step back and direct your troops from afar.
Kingmakers Available Platforms
Right now, Kingmakers is confirmed for PC, and it’ll be available via Steam and the Epic Games Store since its release date. There’s no official word on whether it’ll hit consoles like PlayStation or Xbox, but never say never-if the game go big on PC, there’s always a chance it gets ported later on.

That said, the devs haven’t mentioned any plans for console releases just yet, so if you’re gaming on a console, you might be sitting this one out for a while. It’s also not confirmed for Steam Deck, though considering how chaotic the game looks, it might be a bit too demanding and drain your Steam Deck battery very quickly.
If you’re on PC and have the rig to handle large-scale battles with AI armies and real-time destruction, you’re in the clear.
Will Kingmakers Be Multiplayer?
Here’s a question that’s been floating around the community: Will Kingmakers have multiplayer? The answer is yes-at least partially. The game will include co-op multiplayer, which means you and your friends can jump into the time-traveling madness together and coordinate your attacks.

All things considered, Kingmakers is shaping up to be one of the best co-op games releasing this year.
It’s not yet clear how deep the multiplayer mechanics will go (is it just co-op campaigns? Will there be PvP modes?), but the idea of teaming up with friends to take over a medieval battlefield using drones and Humvees sounds absolutely bonkers-in the best way possible.
TL;DR: Kingmakers is shaping up to be one of the most original and chaotic games of the year, even if it doesn’t have a hard release date yet. With its blend of modern combat and medieval mayhem, it’s got potential to be a sleeper hit.
