Marvel Rivals Battle Pass: Variants, Cost, Rewards, & More

Just like many other online multiplayer shooter games, Marvel Rivals features a battle pass system that allows you to unlock a variety of fancy skins, sprays, emotes and even certain characters. As is tradition, the Marvel Rivals battle pass has two different versions: free and luxury.

As you might have expected, you can unlock the rewards from the version without spending any money, while you’ll need to purchase the premium currency first to acquire the luxury version. In fact, that’s not all and we know it’ll be hard for you to digest everything without a proper explanation. Therefore, we’ve put together this detailed guide to explain how the Marvel Rivals battle pass works.

Just like we mentioned earlier, Marvel Rivals Battle Pass has two different variants: free and luxury. The main difference is the cost and the list of rewards. It’s no brainer that you don’t have to spend money in order to enjoy the benefits of the free battle pass.

But if you want to purchase the luxury battle pass in Marvel Rivals, it will cost you 990 Lattice which essentially translates to $9.99 / £7.99. For those who don’t know, Lattice is the primary currency of the game, just like V-Bucks in Fortnite.

Surprisingly, the game also allows you to purchase an upgraded Luxury Battle Pass that gives you 2,800 Chrono Tokens immediately and boosts your Chrono Token acquisition by 20% for the whole season. The upgraded Luxury Battle Pass variant will cost you 2,100 Lattice ($19.99 / £15.99).

So to sum things up, here are all the battle pass options available in Marvel Rivals:

  • Free: Doesn’t require you to spend money but also offers fewer rewards or we’d say common items at the same time.
  • Luxury: Costs 990 Lattice but since you’re spending money, you get the opportunity to unlock more glorious rewards.
  • Upgraded Luxury: Costs 2,100 Lattice. Offers all the previous benefits combined with a free credit of 2,800 Chrono Tokens and increases your Chrono Tokens earning rate by 20%.

How to unlock rewards from Marvel Rivals battle pass

To obtain a Marvel Rivals battle pass, you must earn a currency called Chrono Tokens. Don’t worry, it’s not a paid currency like Lattice.

So, the chrono tokens are the main way you can spend things in the Battle Pass and there are many different ways to unlock them. Firstly, you can do it in the Achievement section. Completing a lot of these achievements will earn you achievement points and when those points go up, you can start completing the rewards and get Chrono tokens that way.

Another method is by going over to the Missions or Event tab and you’ll find various sections like Challenges, Season event and more. In these sections, you’ll find a huge list of quests that are primarily designed to reward you with Chrono tokens and sometimes, even free skins. A lot of the time, you just have to play a certain character, get a couple kills with them a certain way and then you’ll unlock all the Chrono tokens you want.

Here’s a quick recap of how you can unlock rewards from the battle pass and earn Chrono tokens:

  • Achievements: Completing tasks in the Achievement section will earn you Chrono Tokens. As you complete more, your achievement points will go up.
  • Missions and Events: Head to the Missions or Event tab and you’ll see the “Challenges” area where you can find more ways to earn Chrono Tokens. The Season Events tab also has extra ways to collect them.
  • Event Areas: There are five different sections in the Event tab with more achievements that reward you with Chrono Tokens.

Do Marvel Rivals battle passes expire?

You’ll be shocked and glad to know that, unlike many other online free to play games, the battle pass of the Marvel Rivals doesn’t expire.

Once you grab a Luxury Battle Pass, it’s yours forever. You can keep unlocking rewards from it in future seasons, no problem. Just hit the “NEXUS” button in the top right corner of the Battle Pass screen to access all the passes you’ve unlocked whenever you want. If you want to grab rewards from a past Battle Pass in a new season, you’ll need to get some new Chrono Tokens. This is because the goal is to finish each season’s Battle Pass while it’s active.

Once a season is over, you can’t buy that season’s Luxury Battle Pass anymore. You can’t even get it through the “Reality Link Point” after the fact.

What happens to Chrono tokens when the season ends?

At the end of the season, your Chrono Tokens reset to zero. If you’ve got leftover tokens, the system will automatically grab rewards for you, so you won’t lose anything. You’ll even get a mail in-game showing what you got. But honestly, it’s better to use them before the season ends if you can.

However, if you bought extra Chrono Tokens with Lattice (that in-game currency) and you have some left when the season ends, you’ll get to carry some over into the next season. For example, if you spent 1,000 Lattice to get 1,000 Chrono Tokens and still have 500 left, those 500 will roll over to the next season. bought with Lattice will carry over.
