Marvel has brought back its famous swimsuit comic, and this time, it’s not just about beach bodies and artwork. Marvel Swimsuit Special: Friends, Foes & Rivals #1, will hit stores on July 9, and comes with something Rivals players might want to not miss the redeem code that unlocks the Unlimited Thing skin in Marvel Rivals. This was revealed in an official release on Marvel.com, along with fresh new covers for the Swimsuit Special comics.

Yes, this summer-themed comic issue includes more than the usual colorful splash pages. Players of Marvel’s hero shooter game will receive access to a special version of The Thing, styled in the spirit of the swimsuit event, by redeeming the code printed inside the comic’s physical edition. (This is not available in digital-only copy unless redeemed through the Marvel Unlimited app.)
The comic is not only for laughs or decoration. It has a story as well. Writers Tim Seeley and Tony Fleecs team up with artist Nick Bradshaw and many others to craft a storyline following Janet Van Dyne, aka Wasp, who leads a fashion photo shoot across the world. Characters like Scarlet Witch, Cyclops, Human Torch, Black Panther, and more appear in elegant summer wear. Some of these characters are also expected to join the Marvel Rivals hero roster soon.
There’s also a subplot involving Roxxon Comics, which tries to publish an unauthorized swimsuit book of their own, giving Wasp more reason to bring the heroes together under the official banner.

Although the comic stands on its own, it is also used as a vehicle to preview new Marvel Rivals skins. More cosmetics are being planned in connection with both comics and game events, which will hit Marvel Rivals’ store during Season 3, July-August. This has been confirmed by Marvel Rivals’ Executive Producer Danny Koo in a recent tweet.
It is also leaked that Season 3 of Marvel Rivals will also have special Symbiote Skins for Captain America, Storm, & Moon Knight.
To unlock the ‘Unlimited Thing’ skin, you must purchase the print edition of the comic, find the included redeem code, and enter it in Marvel Rivals. The code will likely be single-use, so each copy grants one skin.
