A new leak is oozing with potential-literally. Symbiote-themed skins might be on their way to Marvel Rivals, giving some of the game’s most iconic heroes a sinister makeover. Thanks to consistent content drops and cosmetic updates, NetEase Games has built impressive momentum with Marvel Rivals, and if these leaks hold up, Season 3 could take things to a darker, gooier level.

Voice files released by dataminers X0XLeak on Twitter show Captain America, Rocket Raccoon, Storm, and Moon Knight speaking like they’re under Symbiote influence. Cap even calls himself “Captain Klyntar,” a nod to the Symbiote planet, while Rocket warns his new partner to “bite them, not me.” Storm seems thrilled by her raw power, and Moon Knight tells Khonshu he could “get used to this.” But at the moment, no images of these skins exist, and it’s unclear if these lines will appear in the final game. For now, you can hear the voice lines that has been leaked on X (Twitter).

Previous rumors have it that Knull, the twisted ruler of the Symbiotes, will be Season 3’s main villain after Ultron, and these Symbiote skins would fit perfectly. Almost every major character in comics has hosted a Symbiote at some point, so there’s plenty of inspiration for NetEase to draw upon.
Though Spider-Man and Venom are most tied to the Symbiotes, many heroes and villains have been hosts briefly. The developers might use classic comic designs or craft entirely new looks. We just don’t know yet, but it will be interesting to see how these skins adapt to Marvel Rivals’ visual style.
As with all leaks, take this with a grain of salt. Data mining sometimes reveals ideas that never come to light. But Symbiote variants seem like a strong match for the game, and the new voice lines make it more likely. Exactly when they’ll arrive remains unclear.
Hopefully, the official announcement won’t take long. NetEase has kept a steady content flow since its launch, and it’s likely to continue. We don’t know what Season 3 will hold, but details should emerge in the coming weeks.
Also, recent leaks hinted at new heroes such as Rogue and Gambit joining the roster, besides the Symbiote-themed costumes. Rumors say Knull might be the villain in the next season, pointing to a big wave of Symbiote content soon.
For now, the next major fighter will be Ultron, who debuts as a Strategist on May 30. This date also brings a free cyborg-like “Binary Arrow” skin for Hawkeye and a Norse-themed “Yggroot” skin for Groot.
