Is Star Wars Outlaws Multiplayer and Cross Platform?

Star Wars Outlaws has finally unleashed players into an open-world exploration within the Star Wars universe. With the ability to travel between planets and traverse unique worlds, it’s one of the most expansive Star Wars experiences ever made.

But is it cross platform? Does it have multiplayer? Can you pull of daring heists with your friends? Here’s the low down on your chances for galactic mayhem.

Is Star Wars Outlaws Multiplayer?

Despite the incredible open world nature of Star Wars Outlaws, it’s missing one crucial part: Multiplayer. The game was never slated to have multiplayer, but the plural in the title, the concept art, and the overall modern trend meant many thought there would be multiplayer.

Instead, Star Wars Outlaws offers a classic Ubisoft open-world experience. We’re cautious to just call it “Farcry in Space” but hey, if the shoe fits!

After the surprise success and positive reception of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Ubisoft has proved it’s got the ‘licenced IP open-world’ game on lock. But if you’re looking for multiplayer experience, even a tacked on multiplayer, you’d be better off looking elsewhere. We’d suggest 2004’s Star Wars: Battlefront, but that’s just us. Or last months Star Wars: Bounty Hunter re-release.

Is Star Wars Outlaws Cross Platform?

With no multiplayer, cross platform compatibility is a little redundant, but no, the game isn’t cross platform. Releasing on Aug. 30 on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X & S, the game doesn’t have shared saves, or anything like that. Once you’re locked in on one platform, that’s it, you’re playing it there.
