How to Unlock Viper in FFXIV Dawntrail

Viper is one of two new jobs you can unlock in FFXIV Dawntrail, alongside the Pictomancer. The Viper utilizes two swords which are combined together into a double sword for even more power. A formidable melee fighter, the Viper is sure to have many players wanting to pick up this brand new job. But where can you find it?

Luckily, we’ve put together a quick guide on how to unlock the Viper in FFXIV and get your hands on those two swords as quickly as possible. Here’s how.

Where To Unlock Viper in Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail

Despite being a Dawntrail job, the Viper isn’t unlocked in one of the new Dawntrail areas. Instead, you simply need to travel to Ul’dah, the Steps of Nald (X:9.3 Y:9.2).

There, you’ll need to speak to the Worried Weaver and take on the quest “Enter the Viper.” Once you’ve completed this quest you’ll have unlocked the Viper to use.

You’ll need to make sure you have a Disciple of War or Magic at level 80 to take on this quest, and you’ll also need to make sure you have room in your inventory for a full set of gear and weapons. Otherwise you’re good to go on your Viper adventure!

The Viper in FFXIV Dawntrail

The Viper is one of two new jobs released with Dawntrail. Viper is reportedly named after the creature that inspired its fighting style, and uses a fighting style that originated in Tural. Fearsome hunters, Vipers stalk and kill their prey with overwhelming power, and the twin fangs of their blades.

Viper is also the “cover” job for Dawntrail, having been the job shown off by the Warrior of Light character in all trailers for the expansion so far. As a result, this is a job that many players will want to take on as they complete Dawntrail for the first time.
