A full build of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has leaked online, giving players a deep look at what they can expect from Saber Interactive’s upcoming third-person hack-and-slash game. In response to the leak, Saber Interactive has released a statement providing important context to the state of the build.

The game, which is set to release on September 9, 2024, has suffered a full game leak on a piracy website, coming in at around 75GB. While the build uses some placeholder assets, it comes with server binaries, meaning anyone who downloads it can actually play Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2’s multiplayer.
The build was originally believed to be dated June 20, 2024. This means it would represent an almost complete version of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. However, in a statement responding to the massive leak, publisher Focus Entertainment claimed the build “will be almost a year old by the time we launch,” confirming it doesn’t represent a true picture of the game in its finished state.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 recently canceled plans for a public later to focus on polishing the launch experience. It’s unfortunate that the game has leaked despite this. Realistically, it has to be devastating as a developer to have gamers judge your early work as a finished product, and hopefully, fans avoid spoiling it for themselves and give the upcoming title a fair shot on September 9. There will no doubt be plenty of game footage online over the next couple of months. Do yourself a favor and avoid it.
We would recommend that you don’t download the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 leak. Because as tempting as it can be to take a peek at one of the best upcoming games in 2024, downloading any leak from a piracy site comes with understandable malware concerns. It also undermines the years of work the developers have undertaken – it’s just not worth it.
