What Level Should I Be For Shadow of the Erdtree?
Elden Ring is a tough game at the best of times. Shadow of the Erdtree is going to kick things up a notch, proving to be a new challenge for the most seasoned Elden Ring adventurers. As a result, you can’t just walk in as a low-level player and dominate the toughest bosses. Instead, you’ve got to make sure you’re at an extremely high level before you start the new Elden Ring DLC.
For most players, we’d recommend you’re around level 150 before starting Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.
This will ensure you can handle anything the DLC throws at you without getting overly frustrated, which is always an issue with difficult games like this. However, a good player should be able to handle Shadow of the Erdtree at around level 125 and above, so don’t worry about grinding if you’re not quite there yet.

We won’t lie to you: attempting Shadow of the Erdtree at anything less than level 100 will put you into a world of hurt. Even the best players with the cheesiest Elden Ring builds will struggle at this level, meaning it’s best to not even try. It’s okay though – if you’re not at the right level, you probably haven’t played enough of the game to be good enough to actually beat the DLC. In a way, it’s a blessing while you wait to reach level 125 and above!
