Winners of the HCS Atlanta Major 2024, Spacestation Gaming have arrived in Salt Lake City on a mission to retain their trophy. They’re off to the perfect start so far, after starting Pool A with two wins and only a single map lost. We can’t say for sure if they’ll go back-to-back yet, but they couldn’t have asked for much more from their opening matches at HCS Salt Lake City Major 2024.
Spacestation Gaming’s day was underlined by a monstrous performance from StelluR, who managed 131 slays across just seven maps played. For context, his nearest teammate was Bound, who sits on 105 for the day. With StelluR in form like this, Spacestation Gaming should be a lock for Championship Sunday.
Complexity shock OpTic in convincing sweep

The shock of the day came from Complexity, who were able to sweep OpTic Gaming in a convincing 3:0 series. OpTic have finished runners-up at the last few Halo Majors, so you’d expect to see them dominate the Pool Play stages. However, Complexity had other ideas, setting themselves up in good stead heading into day two of the HCS Salt Lake City Major 2024.
Complexity can thank Breakingshot and RyaNoob for their strong performance on day one of play. The duo finished on 154 and 124 slays respectively, showing there’s a lot of firepower on this roster. Can they remain consistent to make it to Championship Sunday? Stay tuned.
FaZe out the gates fast

After their disastrous performance at the HCS Atlanta Major 2024, FaZe Clan are on a mission to avenge their previous tournament. They got themselves off to the perfect start in Pool D, taking down both Pure and Native Gaming to put themselves into a good spot for reaching Championship Sunday.
Royal2 and SnakeBite were the essential pieces for FaZe Clan on day one, especially during the tight 3:2 series against Pure. Their consistency during this marathon match meant FaZe were able to get over the line to top Pool D. That Pure were able to take FaZe Clan the distance is a good sign for the orgless roster, too, after their own impressive performance last Major.
Here are the current pool standings at the end of day one of the HCS Salt Lake City Major 2024, including each of the Open Bracket teams.
