The victory at the Wonju DB Promy Arena marks a massive historic milestone for the organization. For the first time in their history, Hanwha Life Esports is packing their bags for the Mid-Season Invitational. Because they secured the coveted regional first seed, they get to completely bypass the frantic play-in stage and head straight to the main bracket on home soil in Daejeon.

Trading Map Steals and Miracles

The series opened with a masterclass in macroeconomic play. Hanwha Life focused their draft heavily on scaling, picking a top-lane Sion for Choi “Doran” Hyun-joon. While the strategy intentionally allowed T1’s Choi “Zeus” Woo-je to build an early gold advantage on Jayce, Hanwha simply used map pressure to choke out the rest of the map.

T1 dodged multiple key ultimates to unlock a massive free-hitting window for Kim “Peyz” Su-hwan’s Sivir.

The young marksman secured a clean quadra kill and an ace, instantly accelerating his build path to drag T1 back into the series.

Kanavi put on an absolute clinic on Lee Sin in the third set, translating three early top-side kills into massive map control. Right as T1 tried to claw their way back via objective control, Kanavi executed a pair of spectacular Baron and Infernal Soul steals, completely breaking T1’s strategic momentum and putting Hanwha on match point.

The final map of the day was the support department’s. Yoo “Delight” Hwan-joong turned the server into a personal highlight reel on Blitzcrank, landing multiple high-stakes hooks from the laning phase onward. His continuous pick-potential acted as the perfect catalyst for Kim “Zeka” Geon-woo’s Yone, who ballooned into an unkillable side-lane threat. Hanwha systematically dismantled T1’s base to secure the 3-1 match score line.

While Hanwha is busy celebrating its direct ticket to the bracket stage, the road ahead for the legendary T1 roster just became incredibly narrow. Faker and the boys are dropping down to the lower bracket, where they will face the winner of Gen.G versus KT Rolster on June 14.
