You play VALORANT daily to kill your free time, and chances are you’ve asked yourself what the highest level someone can achieve in the game is. In case you don’t know, your account level is a tiny number displayed at the top of your banner and sometimes next to your profile picture. It’s simply a representation of how much you’ve played VALORANT so far. But there should be a limit, right? Let us answer this burning question in this article.

If we go by books, the official maximum level set by Riot Games is 500. Surprisingly that’s not true as many players have been able to go beyond this milestone simply by playing matches. GeTreXx, a Twitch streamer, is the best example of this scenario with the highest level in the world.

On December 14, 2022, he claimed via his Twitter account that he was the first VALORANT player to surpass level 1000. Currently, he is standing at level 1348 and has garnered over 6700 hours of playtime, averaging over 7 hours of playing time daily. He also revealed that he’s been playing the game actively since the launch of Episode 1, which is absolutely insane.

How does account leveling work in VALORANT?

In VALORANT, your account automatically levels up when you play Competitive, Deathmatch, or any other matchmade game. During the game, you’ll earn a certain amount of AP (Account Points) every minute you’re in a match. You’ll also earn bonus AP for your first win of the day and every win thereafter.

At the end of a match, the amount of AP you earned goes toward your account level, which will appear on your Player Card as an evolving account level border.

As per the official rules, you level up with every 5,000 AP you earn. Thankfully, unlike the ranking system, your account level won’t reset. As a result, your account level will continue to grow based on your time in-game and is not affected by Acts or your Competitive rank.

However, it’s worth noting that if you transfer to a different region, your account level will reset, and you will lose those glorious numbers.
