Even $10 Million Couldn’t Bring Dr Disrespect To Kick
Dr Disrespect recently revealed that Kick offered him an eye-watering sum of money to join the streaming platform. To many, $10 million would be a life-changing figure – but for Herschel Beahm, it simply wasn’t enough. Last year, Kick.com secured the allegiance of xQc, one of the biggest streamers in the world, with a contract worth $100 million, and by way of a response, Dr Disrespect said he’d join for $50 million.
Until now, it hasn’t been common knowledge that Kick.com scouted the charismatic and controversial content creator. However, Dr Disrespect recently confirmed that he’d been offered $10 million to join Kick.com, with the platform’s leadership team attempting to poach him away from YouTube. Since being banned on Twitch in 2020, Dr Disrespect has called YouTube home, and even $10 million wasn’t enough to pull him away from the site.
‘The Community is Too Strong’
Kick.com has had a turbulent journey since launching in 2022. It has long been the source of scandals, with some bizarre behaviour being permitted on the site that has led many to doubt the intentions of the platform. Despite that, bursting coffers have meant that the site has obtained the loyalty of many content creators, such as Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel. That seems like a match made in heaven for Dr Disrespect, who is often considered one of the most brash and offensive streamers in the business – but it wasn’t to be.
The ‘Two Time’ recently revealed:
‘It’s just not enough. The community (on YouTube) is too strong here. We’re established. The numbers are just outrageous. We’re looking good, we’re feeling good. I’m in cruise control driving multiple Lamborghinis. I’m in no rush.’
It was a comment made in character for Dr Disrespect, but there’s a lot of truth behind the sentiment. Since landing on YouTube, The Doc has become one of the platform’s most consistent streamers, pulling in a massive audience every time he goes live. He’s still holding out for that $50 million offer, though – but it’s unlikely it will arrive. Reportedly, the $10 million offer included a clause that stressed Beahm wouldn’t need to gamble to appear on Kick.com, which is often a requirement for content creators making it big on the site.
