Sportradar Granted License in UAE Gaming Expansion
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has granted Sportradar a gaming-related vendor licence as the country continues to expand its gaming options.
The licence, effective immediately, authorises Sportradar to supply its sports data, technology, and integrity services to licensed operators within the UAE.
The company recently launched Bettor Sense, an AI-powered tool for operators to monitor gamblers for potential problems. Underdog was the first platform to implement the tool in the US, after it trialled with sports betting companies in South America.
Sportradar will now be able to offer the tool to operators active in the UAE market. The country has been increasing its investment in gaming recently, establishing itself as a hub for esports and expanding gambling options.
If the region further legalizes gambling, such as online sports betting, Sportradar could partner with sportsbooks to supply its live odds and betting data.
Sportradar Expanding Globally

The UAE licence adds to a growing list of global jurisdictions in which it is authorised to operate.
The Switzerland-based company has been expanding rapidly, reporting strong earnings throughout 2025. It posted a 17% increase in first-quarter revenue and continued to see double-digit growth in its second-quarter results.
On the results, CEO Carston Koerl commented, “Our industry-leading scale, including our premium content and product portfolio and leading technology and AI, is driving customer uptake and above-market growth.”
This week, the company announced that it will release its Q3 results on November 5 and host an earnings call on the same day.
UAE Expands Gaming Options
The UAE government set up the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) in 2023 to oversee gaming expansion in the region.
As part of the expansion, it granted Wynn Resorts a license to open the first casino resort in the Gulf region. Wynn plans to open the Al Marjan Island resort in 2027. The company has also set aside land for a second development in Ras Al Khaimah.
In addition, the GCGRA approved its first lottery license and has given gaming licenses to game developers, including Light & Wonder, Aristocrat, and Novomatic.
The granting of licenses may set the stage for further expansion in the future, with the possibility of online betting and gaming.
The country is keen to open up the gaming industry gradually and emphasizes compliance among licensees. Sportradar’s focus on player monitoring and the prevention of match-fixing can supplement the area’s careful expansion.
