The Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) Series (BGIS) 2025 wrapped up with Team Versatile claiming the championship in a thrilling finale. Godlike Esports put up a fierce fight, with star player Jonathan earning the Finals MVP. We caught up with Jonathan to hear his thoughts on the intense finish and his standout performance.

Day 3 didn’t go as planned for Godlike Esports. Yet your team ended the tournament with the highest amount of finish points. How does it make you feel?

So, the primary focus of the team of Godlike was to play aggressively from day 1, which we did. Honestly, it’s just bad luck that we couldn’t finish the tournament in first place.

But for sure, in the upcoming Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series (BMPS), we will try our best. We will learn from the mistakes that we have made throughout this tournament, and hopefully, the BMPS 2025 Trophy will be ours (Godlike Esports).

Last year, during BMPS 2024, Godlike Esports was leading the table on days 1 and 2 of the event. On the final day, we saw your organization drop to third. In this tournament, we have seen a similar story during BGIS 2025 with Godlike Esports finishing in second place. What could be the reason for your team getting to the finish line but not being able to secure the championship?

To be frank, I really don’t know what man. Each tournament we have been playing as a unit, and it has been quite beneficial. But you know what people say, it all depends on “Lady luck”. Suppose she is on your side or not.

During BGIS 2025 on Day 3, I feel like our performance was not consistent; in some games, we were on top, and in others, we were not the best. What can I say, the curse continues.

In the last game of BGIS 2025, you finished earlier in the match, when your team needed you the most to catch up to Team Versatile. Do you remember in that situation as a player, how you felt and how you feel towards your teammates?

So that time, I really wanted to be one of the three players that was alive to support my team, to help them. The manner in which I was killed in the match was quite an unfortunate manner, but what can we do now? It’s a game.

Following me getting knocked out, I had all the trust in the world in my teammates. They tried their best, but it’s hard luck for us.
