With Capcom’s stellar RPG scheduled to release shortly, it won’t be uncommon for curious players to ask: “Is Dragon’s Dogma 2 multiplayer?”.

In this guide, we’ll provide all the information you need to know whether or not multiplayer will be available in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Is Dragon’s Dogma 2 Multiplayer?

No, DD2 is not multiplayer. During the game’s most recent presentation at the Capcom showcase, director Hideaki Itsuno of Dragon’s Dogma 2 said that while the sequel will be a single-player game, but its Pawn system would make it feel like a cooperative game.

The Pawn concept, first introduced in the first Dragon’s Dogma, allowed players to design a second AI-controlled character to accompany them and support them in battle. Two more support pawns can also be added to make a four-person party.

Although Dragon’s Dogma 2 does not feature multiplayer, there will be an online community component where players can borrow additional Support Pawns from other players who have made their main Pawns and made them available for sharing online. There is no way to play with your friends or other players in your journey as the game is thoroughly a single player experience.

What are Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pawns?

While multiplayer isn’t a feature in Dragon’s Dogma 2, there will be an online community component where players can borrow additional Support Pawns from other players who have made their main Pawns and made them available for sharing online.

Though it’s pretty doubtful given that the Pawn system was obviously created with single-player gaming in mind, there is a slim chance that multiplayer might be added in the form of a DLC mode. If there is any information about multiplayer or cooperative gameplay in the sequel, we’ll be sure to update this page.

Furthermore, Dragon’s Dogma 2 features mysterious rock formations called Riftstones all around the terrain. You can join the network and hire up to two more Pawns that other players have created by interacting with a Riftstone. You will find battles much easier if your team consists of higher-level Pawns with varied occupations.

Dragon Dogma 2 Vocations

In Dragon’s Dogma 2, vocations which can also known as Dragon Dogma 2 classes serve as your character’s class, which in turn dictates their playstyle and set of skills. There is a Vocation for both the Arisen, the player character, and the Pawns, your allies.

Fighter: With a one-handed sword and shield, the fighter vocation is excellent at physical damage and close quarters fighting. Fighters can use their shields to defend themselves and their group while also slicing through enemy lines and landing devastating strikes.
Archer: The archer profession focuses on long-range strikes with a bow and arrow that deliver a lot of damage. They may attack foes who are positioned high and launch their attacks from a distance. They also play a crucial role in assisting the front lines. For instance, by concentrating on the enemy’s weak points, they can make it easier for your teammates to launch an attack.
Thief: With both hands full of daggers, the Thief vocation strikes with lethal speed, demonstrating exceptional mobility in the process. After striking, they retreat swiftly, take advantage of gaps to latch onto targets, and do massive damage. They might also pilfer goods from opponents and NPCs.
