Brand counters in LoL – the top three picks
Once considered just a support pick to stomp in the lower ends of the solo queue ladder, Brand is now one of the strongest AP junglers in the game. Not only does he have incredible clear speed but his AoE damage can single-handedly carry teamfights, making him a great asset for any team composition. With that in mind, we have listed the best Brand counters to play this season, hoping it helps you win more games against this tedious pick.
If you’re fairly new to the game, check out our guide on how counter picks work in League of Legends. You will understand why counter picks are important, and how you need to take advantage of them to increase your win rate. Make sure to also understand how classes counter one another in LoL so you always know what to pick in each game.
Zed – the best counter
Thanks to his mobility and playmaking potential, Zed is probably Brand’s worst nightmare. The fire champion literally can’t do anything against the assassin champion, who will be able to quickly close the gap and dodge most of the incoming skill shots. Play to invade Brand once you unlock the ultimate and make sure he doesn’t get to farm his jungle camps.

Kayn – the Zed alternative
If you’re not mechanically good on Zed, we have a great option to play in his stead: Kayn. The Darkin Assassin basically does most of what Zed does, with the exception that it requires a bit of time for Kayn to reach his blue form. Once unlocked, you can proceed to permanently invade the enemy jungle and mess up with Brand the whole time.
Rengar – another assassin counter
While he’s mostly played by some OTPs, Rengar actually does wonders against Brand. He can heal up with his W a lot of Brand’s burst damage but most importantly, he can hunt him down whenever the ultimate is ready. Considering Brand’s squishiness, there is no way he will be able to get away.
Worst Brand counters
Vi – the worst matchup
Even though why has multiple ways to shut Brand down with her team, she is technically not a good pick in isolation. This is because her jungle clear is much slower and if she messes up one engage, Brand will be able to quickly shut her down. Unless you have follow up engages, avoid it.

Lee Sin – a bad choice
Similar to Vi, Lee Sin is also another one that struggles due to the much slower jungle clears. Brand will be able to quickly outscale you and unless you compensate it with various ganks and kills, he will continue to be relevant in the games. Only a few Lee Sin masters can actually make this matchup least favorable, but you need to be mechanically incredible.

Does Kha’Zix counter Brand?
