Camille counters in LoL – the top three picks

Once considered a staple pick in the top lane, Camille has gone under the radar in the past seasons of LoL. That said, she still boasts a good mix of split-pushing, dueling, and initiation potential. In the right hands, she can still be an extremely tough champion to beat.

Gwen – The fight between scissors

Both champions are quite weak early on, meaning that the chances of one killing the other are quite low. Once the two champions start building more items, though, Gwen will have the advantage considering she can heal up most of the damage with Riftmaker. Camille will also lose the split-pushing game so it’s a great matchup for Gwen.

Urgot – fighting with poison

While Urgot can’t really force Camille into fighting him, the top lane bruiser champion has more waveclear and will be able to exert side lane pressure better. If Camille tries to contest, she won’t be able to withstand Urgot’s damage. The only way for Camille to win this lane is by finding kills elsewhere on the map with roams and flanks.

Tryndamere – not dying last

Camille excels at executing targets with her combos and this is why she is picked. Against Tryndamere, all of this goes out of the window since the Barbarian King only gets stronger when things get heated and he is on the brink of death. Camille will lose every single 1v1 whenever Tryndamere has ultimate, and she can also be dove if she falls below a certain health threshold. The only thing you can do as Camille is surviving, hoping to help your team in the teamfights.

Quinn – can’t get away

Quinn has the upper hand in the first minutes of the laning phase as she can abuse her range advantage over Camille. That said, the champion is super squishy and can be easily killed by Camille since her ultimate will lock Quinn down, preventing her from kiting back. You shouldn’t pick Quinn blind anyway, but just be aware that this matchup is tough.

Gnar – one misstep and you’re dead

Just like Quinn, Gnar can take advantage of his mini gnar form to harass Camille. That said, the latter can find ways to fight back with her kit, especially once Gnar loses the mega form: that is the moment to go in and try to assassinate him. Just play safe early and wait until the first core item is completed. After that, you should always have enough damage to take him down.

When going up against Camille, it’s recommended to stack a mix of both armor and health. Below is a list of items to build you should consider, based on the class of champion you’re playing:

Does Aatrox counter Camille?

Aatrox is designed to counter champions who want to engage on him and Camille is no exception. That said, a smart player can play around the enemy’s cooldowns to get some short trades in. In a 1-on-1 situation, Aatrox should have the better edge considering he also has sustain, but it ultimately comes down to how the two players perform.
