Kha’Zix counters in LoL – the top three picks

Rek’Sai – the meta counter

Rek’Sai got buffed in the last few patches and she works great against a champion like Kha’Zix. She has the ability to scout him on the map when burrowed and knock him up to stop him from assassinating his targets. Given Kha’Zix’s slipperiness, she is the ideal counter.

Jax – the Rek’Sai alternative

Jax is another champion that does well against Kha’Zix. Thanks to his DPS and dueling potential, he can contest Kha’Zix during small skirmishes and potential counter ganks. Later in the game, Jax will also be tanky enough to prevail in isolated scenarios. Remember that Jax’s E also reduces incoming ability damage so use that to your advantage.

Rengar – it’s time to hunt

Rengar and Kha’Zix have a long-standing relationship directly from the game’s lore and in-game it is no different. That said, Rengar is usually favored against Kha’Zix given his all-in combo. He can track Kha’Zix down with his ultimate and finish him off before the enemy can fight back. If you are good at Rengar, make sure to pick him up as you can also take advantage of the secondary quest to get even stronger.

Worst Kha’Zix counters

Ekko – healing up the damage

Ekko is the type of champion who wants to get in and out of the skirmishes but when facing Kha’Zix, there is little way for him to get away from the void jungler. Kha’Zix can usually finish him off with one fast combo in isolation. Even if Ekko ults to heal himself back up, he doesn’t have enough mobility to then dodge the follow-up damage.

Sejuani – too mobile for her

Speaking of mobility, Sejuani is one of the worst champions against Kha’Zix. The enemy is far too mobile for her to deal with and unless she can land repeated ultimates to shut him down or find consecutive ganks, there is little she can do to stop him from snowballing the game.

How do you counter Kha’Zix with the items?

When going up against Kha’Zix, it’s recommended to stack a mix of armor and HP. Below is a list of items to build you should consider, based on the class of champion you’re playing:

Bruisers: Death Dance, Guardian’s Angel, Sterak’s Gage
AD assassins: Guardian’s Angel
ADC champions: Guardian’s Angel
AP champions: Zhonya’s Hourglass
Tanks: Dead Man’s Plate, Warden’s Mail

What Champion counters Kha’Zix?

The three best counters are Rek’Sai, Jax, and Rengar. Other strong counters are Skarner, Nidalee, and Bel’Veth.

Does Viego counter Kha’Zix?

Viego isn’t usually considered a Kha’Zix counter since both champions have good chances of winning and it comes down to the two players’ skill. That said, Kha’Zix can snowball games faster thanks to his damage and capitalize on a few opportunities to take over the game, allowing him to get into a winning position more often than not.
