As a champion designed to fight head-on against his enemies, Briar beats Rengar in almost all skirmishes. She offers more damage than him early on and she can easily survive the incoming burst combos as long as she can time her ability for the damage reduction. She might not be a popular champion to play, but a good Briar will always have the upper hand over Rengar.
Bel’Veth is the type of champion that counters all melee junglers who rely on bursting down their targets as quickly as possible with her combos. Rengar happens to tick all those categories, which is why he struggles heavily against the void champion. Bel’Veth is also one of the few who can match Rengar’s DPS later in the game, making it hard for the enemy to be relevant in game.
While most bruisers would struggle against Rengar given his damage and mobility, Xin Zhao is one of the few that actually has a great time in this matchup. Not only because he has a lot of sustain coming from his passive but Xin Zhao can also use his ultimate to knock Rengar away if he tries to assassinate him or his allies, nullifying his pick potential. When it comes to burst damage, there is hardly anyone as strong as Rengar in the jungle role. Just for this reason alone, Evelynn struggles against him given the time she needs to charge up her W. She’s also much weaker than Rengar early on, as he can toy with her by using brushes in the jungle.

The Kayn vs Rengar matchup is heavily dependent on Kayn’s ability to get his transformation as soon as possible and what form he decides to go for. In most scenarios, Rengar has an advantage against Blue Kayn since he has more burst damage while Rhaast can survive the initial damage and heal up with the ultimate. In solo queue, however, Blue Kayn is preferred given his higher carry potential so Rengar has an advantage in this matchup.
