If you’re struggling to find a way to beat Swain in LoL, here are the best counters you can play this season to win more games.

Both Swain and Asol require some items and levels to start dealing consistent amounts of damage. That said, Asol will scale more compared to the enemy which allows him to get into a winning position later in the game. The superior range as well as higher DPS makes Asol one of the best Swain counters in the game.
Similar to Aurelion Sol, Syndra is also one of those champions that scale well into the late game. But what really makes her great against Swain is her ability to apply consistent crowd controls and damage to him. Whether it’s using Scatter the Weak to stun him or slowing him down with his W, Syndra has agency over Swain in the matchup.
Vel’Koz is not that popular of a champion but his great range is one of the best ways to counter Swain in the game. His abilities can hit the enemy from afar and he can apply incredible amounts of true damage to the enemy thanks to the passive and ultimate. Swain doesn’t have dashes which means he’s bound to be stuck into Vel’Koz’s firing range without ways to get away (unless he Flashes).

Malzahar struggles with a lack of damage early on the his wave clearing is much weaker compared to Swain. It’s also easy for the latter to proc Malzahar’s passive. If caught by Swain’s E, Malzahar is basically done and will lose a big chunk of his health.
If Malzahar’s matchup was tough, Lissandra into Swain is even worse. She doesn’t have much range on her ability and she’s always in a dangerous position if she has to trade or poke against Swain. On top of that, Swain has enough sustain to heal up most of Lissandra’s burst damage, completely negating one of her main strengths. As Lissandra, just hope that someone else can carry the game for you.

Annie has plenty of burst damage and good wave clearing early on but unless she has a substantial item lead, Swain should have the advantage. He can always heal up most of the damage dealt and survive Annie’s incoming combos. So the answer is no, Annie doesn’t counter Swain (individually speaking).
