If you have no clue how to deal with Zyra, here are the best counters you can consider playing to win more games in this season.

If you play bot lane often, you are probably aware of Zyra’s power as a support. Thanks to her plants and crowd controls, she is extremely annoying to deal with during the laning phase and in the teamfights. That said, there are several champions you can play into Zyra: here are the best three counters.

While Zyra brings a lot of damage in the 2v2 matchup, she is also one of the most immobile supports. If she wants to actively trade with the enemy, chances are she will also overextend and find herself in a dangerous position. Rakan excels at seizing those opportunities with his dashes, having the possibility to force engages and dodge Zyra’s abilities at the same time. You will need to have strong 2v2, however, so make sure to coordinate with your ADC when forcing plays.

Pantheon is not a traditional support counter but the matchup against Zyra is great. This is because he can block most of Zyra’s damage with his E, greatly negating her combos, while also forcing engages by using Flash+W. Pantheon also has strong early-game damage output, making Zyra an easy target to shut down.
If the first two counters are the type of champions that want to get into Zyra’s face, Vel’Koz is the exact opposite. The latter will take advantage of the longer range, zoning Zyra out and eliminating the plants from a safe distance. As long as Vel’Koz doesn’t get caught by Zyra’s root, he should be able to have the upper hand. Make sure to manage the minion waves well, though, as that can swing how the matchup goes.
Ashe is mostly a high Elo pick since it requires great laning fundamentals to be effective but she struggles heavily against Zyra. If you pick her into the mage support, you are essentially countering yourself. She can block your W with her plants and it will only require one combo to blow you up.
This is the toughest matchup for Nami. If she ever gets rooted by Zyra, chances are she will lose most of her health bar with one combo rotation. Unless you need Nami for the team composition, avoid her into Zyra.
When going up against Zoe, it’s recommended to stack magic resistance to lower her burst damage. Below is a list of items to build you should consider, based on the class of champion you’re playing:
The three best champions are Rakan, Pantheon, and Vel’Koz. You can also consider other picks such as Taric, Blitzcrank, amd Sona depending on which champion you’re proficient at.
Even though Morgana technically counters Zyra with her spellshield, the issue in this matchup is that Zyra has too much magic damage and she will be able to break any shield Morgana casts on herself or her ally. The only way to play around this is by maxing Morgana’s shield, but then the champion would have little to no damage during the trades.
