The 2025 Asia Invitational (2025 ASI) ran from October 6 to 12, serving as a tasty online event for League of Legends (LoL) esports fans to consume ahead of Worlds 2025. The inaugural event from Huya, Douyu, and Bilibili didn’t disappoint, with an LCK derby between rivals BNK FEARX and Dplus Kia in the grand final.

Sparks flew at 2025 ASI, as the best teams from the LCK, LCP, and LPL regions, who didn’t make it to Worlds 2025, clashed for their share of the $1.5 million Yuan prize pool.

FEARX Shows No Fear At 2025 ASI

For BNK FEARX, 2025 ASI marked a chance for revenge. After all, at the end of the LCK 2025 season, BNK FEARX was eliminated by Dplus Kia with a 3-1 score in the LCK playoffs. Earlier, BNK FEARX beat Dplus Kai 3-2 during the Play-In stage of LCK. Neither team made it to Worlds 2025, with Dplus Kia falling at the last hurdle against Faker’s T1.

In the 2025 ASI group stage, Dplus Kia earned a second-place finish in Group A with a 2-1 score, while BNK FEARX dominated Group B with a clean 3-0 score. However, in the first round of the knockout stage, Dplus Kia smashed BNK FEARX with a clean 2-0 victory, and barreled through NS RedForce with a 2-0 to make it to the grand final.

On the brink of elimination, BNK FEARX shook off the loss to rally against Weibo Gaming and NS RedForce, eliminating both opponents with 2-0 scores in the lower bracket to earn a spot in the grand final.

In the best-of-five grand final, Dplus Kia drew first blood, but BNK FEARX quickly responded to tie up the series 1-1. Dplus Kia took a 2-1 lead to put themselves on match point. However, BNK FEARX dug deep, winning the next two games in a row for a 3-2 victory, completing the comeback and taking revenge on their opponents.

BNK FEARX’s botlane player, Nam “Diable” Dae-geun, was named MVP.
