CTBC Flying Oyster Dominate T1 at Worlds 2025 in One-Sided Match

CTBC Flying Oyster are by far the best team out of the LCP region, and they’ve made it to every international event this year. Now, after beating T1, it’s clear that they’re not messing around at Worlds 2025.

Though they’re by far the best team in the LCP, CFO often gets written off in comparison to teams from other regions. The LCP was just formed in 2024 from the ashes of several minor regions, none of which were nearly as strong as China and South Korea.

However, the Oyster squad has defied expectations at every turn, proving that the LCP deserves to be respected. Beating T1 is no small feat even if they’re looking a bit weaker than usual this year.

But them winning the match isn’t the entire story. No, it’s how they did it that matters. It’s not like they won by the skin of their teeth, they drafted with confidence and completely shut T1 out of the game.

CFO Confidently Crush T1 in Worlds 2025 Matchup

When teams that aren’t as experienced on the world stage or lack confidence face a matchup like T1, they will choose safe, scaling compositions to give themselves a better chance of winning.

There’s no shame in playing safe, but that isn’t exactly the route CFO went. They didn’t beat T1 by trying to out-macro them and find small leads, they did it by locking in Draven, fighting at every opportunity, and blowing the game wide open.

While players like Chiu “Doggo” Tzu-Chuan and Yu “JunJia” Chun-Chia have a history of excellence on other teams, of particular note is mid laner Tsai “HongQ” Ming-Hong. He’s over 11 years younger than Faker, yet he completely blew him out of the water on Ryze, a pick that Faker himself is famous for.

Additionally, HongQ won both rookie of the year and player of the year in the LCP, taking home MVP flowers that are rarely seen so early in someone’s career.

It’s worth mentioning this is just a best of 1 and that T1 do exceptionally well in a best of 5 format. Adapting over the course of a series is arguably their strongest trait. That only applies if T1 manages to make it out of the Swiss stage, however, and this loss brings them a step closer to elimination.

Though other top-tier teams like Gen.G and Anyone’s Legend are still favored for winning Worlds 2025, Flying Oyster has proven time and time again that they have what it takes to compete. For those looking for a dark horse team to root for, this is the one.
